Purpose Partner - Marriage

By Pastor Jeannette Parrott

Marriages made from heaven have a purpose.

Genesis 1:28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground."

In order to advance God's kingdom in the earth we need a heavenly vision for our lives.

Ask God what were you born to do?

It's essential that we know from God our purpose so that picking a mate falls within that vision.

Amos 3:3 “How can two walk together unless they are agreed?” rings more true than ever. Who wants to walk through life together miserably? And a marriage where two walk separately is not marriage like God intended. What does that mean? If I already know the vision God has for me to fulfill, then I will be able to articulate that vision to anyone I meet.

Anyone that I partner with must have a vision that compliments the vision I have. Without this communication and agreement any partnership will eventually fail and fall apart because a house divided won't stand.

So really, long before there is any discussion of any possibility of this relationship's future, there needs to be a life vision discussion.

This conversation alone will help weed out any potential time wasted on pursuing someone who is not meant for you.

A purpose partner, with the help of God, what can you build together that will bring God glory?

This is the mindset we need when choosing a life long partner.

Let's Pray: Lord, who would you have me to marry? You are my Father and you know "who" is best for me. I am acknowledging you in each step of this process. I am looking to you to guide my footsteps. Lord, I thank you now for a life partner that we can build together and bring you glory in the earth. Amen.
